I heard you on the radio today and am wondering if you can explain the "Golden Rules" you were talking about again. I'd like to explain them to my daughter. Thanks, Alice

Shari's Response

Absolutely. And thanks for asking...

1. Educate yourself before making a big (financial) decision.

2. Be careful who you trust and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

3. Rememeber, not matter what you do, at the end of the day you're the only one who can and will be responsible for your own (financial) decisions.

And, even though you didnt ask Alice, my favorite daily reminder, the "NANA TEST." Before making a purchase like shoes, etc, ask yourself "Would Nana (my grandmother who passed away at age 99 in December was Nana, yours may be grandma or YaYa or Bubby - whatever) have bought this? If this asnwer is "No".....do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not buy it!
