Here are some more benefits of homeownership
Home owners are more satisfied and happier than renters.
Homeowners' children do better in school, are more likely to finish high school, and less likely to become pregnant as teens.
Voting is higher among homeowners than renters.
Property values for owned properties are higher in general than rented properties.
Of course the question is whihc comes first, the chicken of the egg - mayne those of us more likly to be happy or more likly to have kids finish high school are the ones who have their act together and can afford to own their own home, not the other way around where someone buys a home and immediately becomes happy or a good parent.
